You can approach any source of water, no matter how unclean and dirty it is, and tap the right trigger while you're stood in the water. Using the Bottomless Pot is really simple. Return to him with the grains of wheat from your town in Furrowfield, and he'll reward you with the Bottomless Pot item. It's just outside this building that you can find Pastor Al's friend. When you get into the bog, head to the very southern end of the area to find a Navi-Globe, and a nearby building. In order to obtain the Bottomless Pot, you need to head into the bogs to the south of the island, in accordance with when Rosie and Pastor Al send you that way with your new dog.
